A Recent Trip to Staples

I recently went to my local area Staples store. We have all seen the commercials for "What the "L"? making reference to the "L" in their logo which has always been a bent staple. So now they are updating their website and adding more products for different areas of the business world. I went to one of the stores in my local area and I had not been in awhile and I was wanting to recycle an old monitor I had. I arrived at the store with the monitor in the cart and to my shock and surprise they remodeled the store and downsized it. I liked the new look and I know that they mostly cut out the office furniture department which took up a good size of the store. But what I did not like was they no longer accepted the monitor to recycle so I was not happy with having to take the monitor back to my truck. The clerk claimed all they take is old ink cartridges. So I walked through the store and looked around I found most of what I was interested in, but they have two big screens so you can order items that are not in the store online. I understand that Staples like most companies is trying to stay relevant in this new economy, and I know Walmart and Kmart does the same thing, order and it comes to the store instead of you paying shipping fees for it to come to you.

So we will see if the new look and the new services they offer helps them out in the long run.
