This was just seen by me a little bit ago. I am shocked that he has passed away. He was just inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this past Saturday and made an appearance on this past Monday's episode of RAW.
I remember watching the Ultimate Warrior on TV when he first appeared on the scene in WWE. But before he became the Ultimate Warrior he was the Dingo Warrior back in WCCW (World Class Championship Wrestling). He also wrestled in Florida for many years as the tag team partner to Sting in the early 80's before he went to WCCW and Sting went to the NWA.
The Ultimate Warrior had feuds with Ravishing Rick Rude for the Intercontinental Tittle, they swapped it between each other several times. He retired Randy Savage at WrestleMania 7 and he defeated Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania 6 for both the tittles. He was supposed to take the torch from Hulk Hogan because Hogan was going to retire after that Wrestlemania. But the Ultimate Warrior changed paths as the saying goes. He made a brief appearance in WCW, but that did not work out either.
He changed his name legally to Warrior and was a motivational speaker.
R.I.P. Ultimate Warrior
