Why Left Handed People Get a Bad Rap

I am a left handed person. I am 100% left handed dependent, which means I can only write with one hand. Being left handed has always been looked at by me as a blessing and a curse. As a blessing it made me different from everyone else. As a curse well that goes alot of ways one is some people are intimidated or fearful of left handed people and second if you do like I did in 2003 and you fall and break your left elbow in three places and in a splint from wrist to shoulder that makes life HARD.

So why did or does society give people like myself a hard time. Well I did not discover this until my teenage years and I just thought my great-grandmother was just telling a tale but I found out that it was a truth. I was working at my first job and these two little old ladies came up to the register  I was on and they paid for their stuff with a check and I had to initial it and they started whispering among themselves. It got to the point while I was gathering their stuff that I finally asked if their was a problem since they were whispering and one of the ladies asked if I was left handed and I said yes. The whispering began again and I asked again and one of the ladies finally said this, "you are left handed and that is a sign of the devil there fore young man your family did not teach you right and you are EVIL". I apologized thinking the old birds were just crazy. So I asked my mom and she got a kick out of it. My Grandparents did too. Back in my Great-Grandmother's day they frowned on anybody being left handed and saw it as a evil thing and therefore teachers, family, etc. would restrain the left hand and make a person learn to use their right hand or be punished. As it was mentioned by my Grandparents my Great-Grandmother tried to do that with my uncle but it only made him able to use both hands. So after all of that and with the case of the little old ladies that freaked out on me even if I was the shortest line and the fastest I never dealt with them again. Was I able to learn how to write right handed back in 2003 when my left elbow was broken NOPE could not do it no matter how hard I tried.

Are left handed people evil no. Are we planning to try and take over the world well maybe some of us are. Are we seen as a threat to some parts of religious society in some cases yes. In some older people we are still seen as the work of the devil and that our family did not raise us right and we were not brought up in a godly home. Are some people intimidated by me and others like me yes why because "studies" have shown that in some cases left handed people are smarter than right. I do not believe in that theory. No matter what hand you write with where you get educated is still the same its all based on whether you learn the material or not. I have seen some stupid left handed people.
