A friend of mine works for a restaurant that claims it wants to help the community anyway it can through fundraisers and other means. As long as it means more business for the restaurant in question. So anyway my friend was telling me that this past Friday they were doing a fundraiser for one of the local school systems. I was like good about time someone tries to give back to the community. Well my friend told me recently that because they had raised more money for the school compared to that day's sales, the restaurant company is calling fowl. I was like WTF? The total according to my friend was like over $1,000 but because they missed sales the company is saying there is no way that much money can be raised. So according to my friend, the store manager has to go through all of the tickets that had anything to do with the fundraiser and do a total recount and turn that in. So my fellow readers that means the school is about to be screwed out of some money due to corporate greed. I told my friend that the restaurant in question should not even do fundraisers if that means they are going to screw them out of their money. Think about what the money could of done for the school system. This could of happened anywhere. If companies are so much more worried about their bottom line then why do things like a fundraiser to begin with. I understand that it is supposed to bring in new business but after all the hard work at the end of the day why screw an elementary school out of what could of helped some kids or saved some teachers their own money.
Good old corporate (and greedy) America.
